Retainer tracking and monthly client reports

Create a project per retainer. Attach the client profile, the monthly hour budget, and the member list. Rate cards apply per client where needed, and every project carries its own budget alerts. One-off projects and campaigns sit alongside retainers in the same workspace.

Create tags for the activity types your firm reports on: media monitoring, outreach, strategy, drafting, placements, events, crisis response. Tags apply to any time entry on any project, so the same taxonomy works across every client you serve.

Publicists run the timer against the retainer and tag the activity type as they work, or type hours into the weekly grid with tags applied per row. Descriptions capture the specific publication, contact, or angle so the monthly report tells the full story.

The summary report groups hours by client and by tag, the budget dashboard shows every retainer against its monthly cap with alerts on the ones approaching the ceiling, and the weekly report gives account leads a running view of where the month is heading before it closes.

Filter the summary or detailed report by client, pick the date range for the month, and export to CSV or Excel for the client hand-off. Every export keeps the active filters, so the file the client receives matches exactly what you reviewed on screen.
