Trust, not surveillance

We built Hourvio for distributed teams that are tired of being treated like suspects. If you have worked with a US time tracking tool in the last five years, you know the playbook: screenshots every ten minutes, webcam snapshots as proof of presence, keystroke counters, mouse movement trackers, idle timers that punish a thinking pause. That is not management. That is surveillance, and the research on why it destroys trust and productivity has been in for a decade.

Hourvio does none of that. We do not take screenshots. We do not watch webcams. We do not log keystrokes. We do not track your mouse. We do not measure idle time against some arbitrary threshold. We do not install a background agent that reports on application usage. We trust your team, because we believe remote work only works when trust is the default.

What we do is the honest version. A one-click timer captures tracked time per project and per task in every team member's own timezone. Calendar sync shows meetings alongside tracked time so the week is visible without switching tabs. Time off is a first-class module, approvals run asynchronously so nobody waits on a different timezone, and everything lives on European servers in Germany. Trust-based coordination is the product, not a marketing line.

Timezone-aware time entries

Every entry keeps its original timezone on creation, so a 10 a.m. start in Lisbon and a 10 a.m. start in Berlin stay accurate on every report and calendar view.

Time-off visibility across the team

Team timeline shows who is out, why, and when they return. Holiday calendars, company closures, and individual requests sit in one async-friendly view.

Async approval workflows

Weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly submissions. Managers review when they are online, reject with a note that reaches the author in the app, and approve in bulk.

Calendar sync for shared context

Google Calendar and Outlook events appear alongside tracked time. Stand-ups, planning, reviews, and customer calls stay visible without a shared inbox.

Async-friendly reports

Summary, detailed, and weekly reports read from tracked entries directly, so a manager opens the view they need without pinging anyone on chat.

Zero surveillance, by design

No screenshots, no webcam monitoring, no keystroke logging, no mouse tracking, no idle timers. The product does not watch your team. It trusts them.

  1. Invite your team with roles

Invite every team member by email with a role — admin, manager, member, or freelancer — and assign a direct supervisor for approval routing. Groups collect members under a manager so async reviews land in one pending queue per manager, not a shared inbox.

  2. Connect calendars

Each team member authorizes their own Google Calendar or Outlook once. Stand-ups, planning, customer calls, and reviews show up alongside tracked time in the Hourvio calendar view. No central admin touches anyone's personal events.

  3. Track time in your timezone

Every team member runs the one-click timer against their project and task, or types into the weekly grid on their own schedule. Entries keep their original timezone, so a morning start in Lisbon and a morning start in Warsaw both read as mornings on every report and calendar view.

  4. Review and approve asynchronously

Team members submit weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly periods when they are ready. Managers see a pending queue scoped to their direct reports, bulk-approve the clean submissions, and reject with a note up to two thousand characters that travels back to the author inside the app.

  5. Manage time off

Vacation and sick leave are configured from day one. Team members request time off with a policy and dates, managers approve asynchronously, and balances update automatically. The team timeline shows who is out and when they return so nobody books a meeting into a teammate's leave.

Roles, groups, and async approvals

Four roles, direct supervisor chains, module visibility toggles, and timesheet approval workflows designed for managers who review when they are online.
